Critical Thinking: Is There A War On Consciousness?
Nowadays, most people live in countries that provide around the clock news coverage. Thanks to this, there is no reason why any of the citizenries who live in a country like this need to miss out on what is going on.
When someone pays attention to the mainstream news source, or even an alternative news source, they are going to be observing what is going on ‘out there’. In other words, what is going on won’t have anything to do with them.
Still, whenever they pay attention to one of these sources, there is the chance that they generally won’t feel very good. If they were to take a step back and to reflect on what takes place, they may find that they often feel anxious and fearful, or angry and full of rage.
Conversely, they could find that there are also moments when they don’t feel anything. What this is likely to show is that this will be a time when they are emotionally shut down and have lost touch with their body.
Just an Experience
Now, irrespective of what experience someone has when they consume the news, it could be said that the thoughts that they have and how they feel won’t have an effect on their life. Sure, they might experience negative thoughts and feel a bit scared, down or angry after, but that will be it.
They are then going to carry on with their life and it will only be a matter of time before they receive their next dose of the news. The word ‘dose’ might not seem appropriate but one could be addicted to viewing this source of information.
With this aside, for the time being, one could also live in a country that is relatively safe and where they have a certain amount of freedom. Unlike some of their ancestors, then, they are not going to be under attack or at war with anyone.
As a result of this, they are going to live in a very different world to the one that a lot of their ancestors inhabited. Sure, they might have to stay in right not due to a virus, but that’s not going to be the same as being in a position where they are fighting for their life.
The Same Old Story
However, although it may seem as though they, along with their fellow citizens, are not in a war, what if this is not the case? What if they, like some of their ancestors, are in a war but that this war doesn’t involve the weapons of old?
What if, in the same way, that a car is often used instead of a horse to get from one place to another, a new approach is also being used to subjugate a population? What if this new approach doesn’t require weaponry or even physical force?
A New Phase
Naturally, if one’s view of warfare only involves weapons and physical force, it can be a challenge for them to accept that there could be another way. At the same time, it wouldn’t be accurate to say that this approach is completely new; if anything, it is an age-old approach that is now widely used and yet, largely goes under the radar.
This approach is less about controlling people from the outside and more about controlling them from the inside. Another way of looking at this would be to say that it is all about controlling their consciousness.
The Key Area
Upon hearing this, one could believe that this is a bit airy-fairy and question what this has got to do with anything. One way of looking at consciousness would be to say that not only does it relate to someone’s inner world, so their thoughts, feelings and beliefs that define the frequency that they are resonating, but that it defines what they will see externally.
Therefore, if an external source can influence someone’s inner world, they will be able to control how they experience life. In other words, their inner world is essentially a garden, so whatever is in this part of them is what will end up appearing in their external world.
The Missing Link
The trouble is that if someone sees themselves as simply an observer of their reality, they won’t be able to realise what is going on. What they see ‘out there’ is not going to have anything to do with what they take in from the mainstream media, and other sources, and what ends up being brought to life by their own consciousness.
Without this understanding, they will be nothing more than a passive observer as opposed to a co-creator of what is taking place. What this emphasises is that in order for something to exist ‘out there’ and to affect a lot of people, there needs to be a lot of people who are in a certain place internally (resonating at a certain frequency) or else it wouldn’t be able to materialise.
The Big Deception
Along with living in a society that tells them both directly and indirectly that they are an observer of their life and a victim of circumstances, they also have an ego-mind that sends them the same message. Consequently, it is not going to matter what they allow into their mind as it won’t affect their life.
Nonetheless, as they are not simply an observer of reality and what they feed into their mind has an effect on what they experience; it is going to be imperative for them to be mindful of what they consume. This will stop them from giving their power away and feeding into a reality that doesn’t serve them.
Perhaps the main reason why someone would see themselves as merely an observer of their life is due to having experienced trauma. What trauma does is separate someone from their body, causing them to live in their mind.
Through being in this disembodied state, they are likely to have a very materialistic view of life and it won’t occur to them that what can be perceived by their five senses is simply a consequence of consciousness. The outcome of this is that consciousness won’t even be acknowledged, let alone disregarded.
